Chinese Automotive Industry: Opportunities and Challenges in Going Overseas | CEIBS Global EMBA
China is now the world’s largest automotive market, and around 70% of cars purchased in the country are domestic brands. Many of these homegrown success stories now plan to expand abroad; to do this, however, they must persuade new consumers and learn how to work in different environments. All the while, their competitors are also changing, and global trade rules are being rewritten.
Present in China since 2001, French company OPmobility is one of the world’s major global automotive suppliers and has been part of the remarkable development of the Chinese automotive market. At this recent event held on the CEIBS Shanghai campus, OPmobility CEO Mr. Laurent Favre shared his vision of the opportunities and the challenges that Chinese automotive brands face in going overseas. The event also featured comments from Former Prime Minister of France and CEIBS Distinguished Professor Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
