Recruiters

Thank you for your interest in recruiting at CEIBS!
The Career Development Centre (CDC) is dedicated to meeting the career needs of our MBA graduates while working closely with companies to meet their staffing needs. Recruiters and companies can also increase brand awareness among our student body.

Recruitment @ CEIBS

CEIBS Executive Forum
CEIBS Executive Forum is the most influential forum where business leaders and senior government officials from all over the world are invited to give speeches on hot topics. Audience members will be CEIBS MBA, EMBA students and alumni, and Executive Education programme participants. The activity will provide excellent exposure, within the CEIBS community, for participating companies.

Campus Recruitment
Campus presentations are one of the most effective ways for companies to create awareness among students and attract candidates.

Job Posting
Recruiters may post openings on the CDC intranet, which may be accessed by all graduating students.

Recruitment Fair
Based on recruitment needs, CDC may also host fairs in Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen. Companies in the host city or surrounding area can meet with students who are willing to develop careers in that geographic area.

Summer Internship Programme
MBA students look for an internship that will add depth to their resumes through hands-on experience and substantial contact with decision makers. Along with expanding their functional skills, many students are looking to use the internship as a way to build industry knowledge. Internships might involve preparing marketing plans, market valuation analysis, financial analysis/forecasting, process/systems improvement or projects co-created by you and the MBA intern(s).

Workshop
The workshop programme is designed to enhance corporate clients' image among students while enriching MBA participants' job market information and job searching skills. Workshop topics range from industry overview, function knowledge to résumé writing and interview skills.

Company Visit
Company visits are the best way for recruiters to present themselves and attract qualified candidates. Students will have a better understanding of the company's corporate culture and operations. Company visits may be arranged at any time during the year.

Mock Interview/Role Play
Mock interviews and role play allow students to practice and improve their interview skills. At the same time, mock interviewers can take this opportunity to observe and identify qualified candidates.

If you want to deliver workshops, host company visits or conduct mock interviews, please contact your CDC consultant at CEIBS CDC:

The CEIBS MBA programme is an 18-month programme, which is comprised of 7 terms starting from August and ending in February of the second year. In the summer of 2016, 196 students from the MBA17 Class will be available for full-time internship for 10 weeks either in China or overseas (from Jun. 20th to Aug. 26th, 2016) followed by 1-week summer break. However, your organisation has the option of continuing the employment of the interns into the academic term through mutual agreement of both parties. Experience has shown that most successful summer internship programs are characterised by advance planning before the interviews.

Typical MBA internship

MBA students look for an internship that will add depth to their resumes through hands-on experience and substantial contact with decision makers. Along with expanding their functional skills, many students are looking to use the internship as a way to build industry knowledge. Internships might involve preparing marketing plans, market valuation analysis, financial analysis/forecasting, process/systems improvement or projects co-created by you and the MBA intern(s).

The Value of the Internship Programme to Your Organisation

  • Immediate and productive contributions to your organisation: CEIBS MBA students possess the advanced knowledge, skills, maturity and analytical abilities to work on a variety of duties, responsibilities and/or special projects with little supervision. CEIBS interns functioning in the role of trained professionals often bring unique and fresh perspectives that organisations can use to improve many everyday business practices.
  • Short-term and cost-effective talent: Hiring a CEIBS MBA student to work on special projects will be significantly less expensive to organisations than hiring "consultants" with comparable levels of knowledge and skills.
  • An effective, low-risk evaluation and training ground for prospective full-time hires: Organisations can use the internship as a probationary period to evaluate whether they would like to offer the MBA intern a full-time position upon completion of the internship. There is no better way to find out if a person is suitable for the job and the organisation than employing the person for a "trial period" by way of an internship.

How to Participate in the Internship Programme?

  • Intern Selection:
-- Employers interested in hiring our MBA students as interns should list internship position(s) directly with your assigned CDC consultants or CDC by sending an e-mail along with the completed Job Posting Request Form to cdc@ceibs.edu. Once we have received the Job Posting Request Form, the internship opportunity will be announced to the students via our internal secured website.
-- Access to the online Resume Books of students will be open to the contact person of the hiring company listed on the Job Posting Request Form, per your request.
-- Please contact us for MBA Mini Bio hard copies.
-- The employer has the discretion to conduct interviews and select number of interns.
  • Interviews:
Interviews can be held on campus or at your work site. However, it is recommended that first interviews be held on campus to give your organisation the advantage of seeing a wider cross-section of students.
  • Company Presentations:
Company presentations and information sessions can be arranged for you to introduce your organisation to students and to explain the nature of the internship offered. Offering an information session will improve your chances of getting the most qualified students on your interview schedule.
  • Aug. 24th, 2015 – Jun. 15th, 2016 Companies submit the Job Posting Request Form (or JDs) to CDC
Jan. 14th, 2016 MBA Job Fair (Shanghai Campus)

  • Salary and Allowance Considerations
CEIBS MBA Internships are typically paid or compensated in form of traffic and meal allowance. All the pay and allowance negotiations are between the students and the hiring organisations.
For your reference: based on our 2014 Summer Internship survey, the mid 80% range of salary/allowance was RMB 240-670 per day (=RMB 5160-14,405 per month).

Responsibilities as an Internship Provider

In addition to the responsibility of supervising the interns, there are only a few requirements:

• The recruiter needs to finalise the intern offers with the selected candidate(s) by Jun. 17th, 2016.
• We recommend that students be given sufficient time to respond to an offer. Your firm's decision to hire should be confirmed to CDC before Jun. 17th, 2016.
• The recruiter needs to fill out an Employer-Student Internship Evaluation to evaluate the intern's performance and send it back to CDC by end of September, 2016
• For hiring of foreign student to do internship in China, please allow students ample time for government approval and processing.
• For overseas internship, please allow students ample time for visa and/or work permit application and processing.
