CEIBS - IESE Publishing Partnership Launches First Batch of IESE Cases on ChinaCases.Org
In October 2024, CEIBS and IESE Publishing took a significant step in their collaboration with the release of 32 cases in Chinese from IESE Business School on the Global Platform of China Cases (ChinaCases.Org). This milestone, facilitated by a cooperation agreement signed in September 2024, marks the first batch of case studies contributed through this partnership. With more than 8,000 academic materials in multiple formats, IESE Publishing will progressively make IESE Collection available to ChinaCases.Org users in both Chinese and English.

Founded in 1958, IESE Business School has been at the forefront of management education for over 66 years, consistently setting standards of quality and innovation. IESE pioneered the use of the case method as a cornerstone of its teaching approach and has been producing its own cases since 1966. Over its history, it has developed more than 5,400 original cases, reflecting a commitment to academic rigor, international relevance, and the integration of real-world scenarios into teaching. Alongside its extensive collection of cases, IESE offers a wide array of innovative educational materials, including simulations, online courses, multimedia cases, and other tools designed to enhance learning and foster leadership development.
IESE Publishing, an integral part of IESE Business School, is the largest distributor of its kind in the Spanish-speaking world. Known for its expertise in the case method, IESE Publishing equips business professionals with practical decision-making frameworks drawn from real-world scenarios. Its catalog includes formats that meet the evolving needs of educators and learners worldwide, making it a trusted resource for academic excellence and innovation.
Ms. Isabel de Muller, Director of IESE Publishing, shared her thoughts on the collaboration: "We are deeply pleased to strengthen our enduring relationship with CEIBS, an institution with which we have shared ties since its inception. This partnership exemplifies our shared values of academic excellence and innovation, allowing us to expand the reach of IESE’s high-quality teaching materials to a growing audience in Asia. Together, we look forward to advancing case-based learning and fostering global leadership development."
Professor Shimin Chen, Zhu Xiaoming Chair Professor in Accounting, Associate Dean, and Director of the Case Center at CEIBS, commented on the partnership: "CEIBS and IESE Business School have a long-standing friendship, collaborating in various areas such as faculty exchanges, academic research, course development, and student exchange programs. Both schools place significant emphasis on teaching quality, case development, case teaching, and the promotion of the case method. Each institution produces approximately 100 cases annually, a practice that has not only strengthened their connections with the business community but has also enabled them to cultivate globally-minded business leaders committed to social responsibility through case-based teaching."
Both CEIBS and IESE are members of the International Community of Case Publishers (ICCP), a prestigious network of leading institutions in case development and publishing. This affiliation allows them to continuously exchange expertise in the field. With the expanding user base of ChinaCases.Org and the increasing demand for its case resources in teaching, the inclusion of IESE's cases and other teaching materials in this library is poised to extend their reach to a wider array of Chinese business schools, enhancing the influence of case-based teaching across the region.
ChinaCases.Org has built a robust collection of 3,088 high-quality cases, serving over 9,700 faculty members across 130 schools nationwide, with cumulative case usage reaching 1.39 million copies for classroom instruction. This latest partnership with IESE, following earlier collaborations with esteemed case publishers and top business schools such as Ivey Publishing, HKU Business School, IMD, and the University of Zurich, underscores strong support for the advancement of management education in China. It also highlights the growing recognition and confidence in ChinaCases.Org as a pivotal resource. Looking ahead, ChinaCases.Org remains committed to fostering international partnerships to enrich its case library, aiming to meet the rising demand for cases with a global perspective in China's educational landscape.
