We cordially invite you to attend our Executive Forum on May 14, 2018, where Mr. Markus Solibieda, Managing Director of BASF Venture Capital GmbH will share his insights on “Engaging with Start-ups through Corporate Venture Capital Investing to Create New Growth Engines”. 

Mr. Markus Solibieda has been working as an investor and entrepreneur in the private equity and venture capital business since 1995. In his role as an investor, Mr. Solibieda sees himself as a provider of ideas and coach for the entrepreneurs and managers with whom he works. He joined BASF Venture Capital GmbH as a Managing Director in 2016, already with 20 years of investment experience. Following his international studies in Business Administration in Germany, France and the US, he started his career with the now independent private equity and venture capital division of Deutsche Bank. Mr. Solibieda executed Growth Capital and Private Equity transactions for Advent International and 3i and subsequently co-founded Baigo Capital. As shareholder and CFO, he led the IPO of ACG, a public company providing smart cards, RFID-technology and semiconductor components. Before taking over responsibilities at BASF Venture Capital, Mr. Solibieda headed the Frankfurt office of Mandarin Capital and led private investments in Venture Capital, Growth Capital and Private Equity.  

During his presentation at CEIBS, Mr. Solibieda will provide an overview of the international landscape of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC), as well as the history and lessons learned – over the last 17 years – by BASF Venture Capital in North America and Europe. In addition, he will present recent investment case studies for discussion.
