Dr. Jian Han is Professor of Management at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). She received her Ph.D. from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. She also serves as Director of the CEIBS Center for Organization Growth and Talent Development and Programme Director of the CEIBS Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Programme.
Dr. Han’s research focuses on how organizations build competitive advantage through organization and talent management. Her work spans strategic human resource management, top management teams and leadership development, organizational change, employee motivation, and diversity and innovation. More recently, she has examined how firms can reshape organizational capabilities, talent systems, and leadership in the digital and intelligent era.
Dr. Han has published extensively in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. Her research has been recognized by the Academy of Management and cited or featured by CNN, Financial Times, Fortune, China Daily, CCTV, and other media outlets.
At CEIBS, Dr. Han teaches executives and middle-level managers in areas such as strategic human resource management, leadership and organizational change, and talent management in the digital era. She has received the Innovative Teaching Award from the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management and the CEIBS Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr. Han also works closely with companies on case development, executive education, and management consulting, with particular expertise in organizational diagnosis, performance and incentives, leadership development, and organizational change. Her teaching cases have received multiple awards in domestic and international case competitions.
In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Han actively contributes to school and social service. She has twice received the CEIBS Faculty Service Award. Since 2012, she has participated in the work of the Global Expert Councils of the World Economic Forum, and was named to the radar list of 30 thought leaders most likely to shape the future of business models. She remains committed to building a deeper connection between management research and business practice, helping companies develop organizational capabilities that are more resilient, innovative, and sustainable in times of change.
