Shengwu was born in Yichang, Hubei. He graduated from Wuhan University (China) with a Bachelor's and Myongji University (South Korea) with a Master's degree, both in Electrical Engineering.
He started his career as a power system consultant with UTInnovation in the Netherlands in 2008. One year later he joined AREVA T&D in Shanghai (later merged into Schneider Electric) as a R&D engineer. He was then recognized as a global core team expert responsible for defining next generation energy automation products and representing company interests in various technical committees.
In 2012 he joined TÜV SÜD as a strategic BD/intrapreneur, where he created from scratch the smart grid business, and was promoted as greater china business line manager. Until 2018 his team have trained more than 1,000 professionals and university students, captured more than 70% market share and has been expending to industrial cyber security, industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing etc.
Shengwu is a well-recognized industry expert in various international and national committees such as IEC, IEEE, Chinese national standardization committee, UCA etc. Moreover, he is always trying to bridge the Chinese industry to the international community. He serves as an advisor to a decent number of Chinese leading manufactures on their "going abroad" strategy. In 2017 he successfully organized the largest-to-date Chinese delegation participating the international interoperability testing event in US with a combined annual revenue of more than USD 2billion Equivalent RMB.
Shengwu is interested in investment and startups, in his leisure time he likes basketball, photography, and psychology.
