CEIBS Partners with Switzerland’s EHL for Hospitality EMBA

July 17, 2017. Shanghai – China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) has partnered with the world’s best ranked hospitality management school, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), to launch a Hospitality EMBA programme (HEMBA).

The HEMBA will be available as of May 2018, with courses jointly delivered by CEIBS and EHL faculty in Switzerland, Shanghai, and other cities in the Asia Pacific Region. HEMBA graduates will be awarded with dual EMBA Degrees, one each from CEIBS and EHL.

“In recent years, as Chinese companies go global, we have seen major deals in the hospitality industry. In many cases these overseas expansions outpace the capabilities of the Chinese firms. The HEMBA will develop senior management professionals for the hospitality industry,” explained CEIBS Dean Professor Ding Yuan. “Who better to partner with than EHL, the very best in the field of hospitality management?” Along with Michel Rochat, CEO of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne Group, Dean Ding today signed the agreement to launch the HEMBA. Founded in 1893, EHL is the first and best ranked hospitality school in the world. It prepares students for a wide variety of hospitality management careers across the globe.

The HEMBA joins CEIBS’ already strong list of programmes that educate responsible business leaders at every stage of their career, preparing them for leadership roles in and outside of China. The HEMBA is an 18-month part-time programme, taught in Chinese (or in English with Chinese interpretation). Professor Katherine Xin – CEIBS Associate Dean for Europe, with responsibility for the school’s Zurich Campus – has been appointed Programme Director.
