1+1 Lecture Seoul: Opportunities Created by the Digital Environment in China

We cordially invite you to attend our exclusive 1+1 Lecture on “Opportunities Created by the Digital Environment” in Seoul on April 8, 2020.

About the lecture

The new oil that may drive economies and growth in the future is data – particularly digital data. Companies like Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent (BAT) are already using their access to data to start different, previously unexplored business opportunities. As China enters its next stage as a developing nation, there are numerous opportunities for many other firms to innovate, create and capture value in China’s large digital environment, which will have implications for the rest of the world. In this lecture, we explore how organizations in China have responded to the current digital environment and consider how existing business models have evolved to manage the challenges of the potentially disruptive innovation from the digital environment. We then examine how organizations have responded by creating new structures and new people processes to prepare to take full advantage of the potential opportunities in the digital space.

What is 1+1?

Launched in 2017, the CEIBS 1+1 project is a series of lectures hosted by leading faculty at various locations around the world. The audience for these invitation-only lectures is comprised of our alumni and friends of CEIBS. Each participant is encouraged to bring a ‘plus one’ who is also a qualified prospect for our MBA or Global EMBA programmes.

The core objectives of the 1+1 series are to further strengthen engagement with our international alumni and to provide attendees with the opportunity to play their part in helping shape the future of the student body at CEIBS.
