Major Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Editors-in-chief to determine content, tone and strategic direction of the magazine.
  • Ensure the highest possible quality of all Chinese language content.
  • Overall responsibility for managing the multi-cultural team that provides content for the magazine (hard copy, website and WeChat versions), as well as external vendors (translation, design, printing).
  • Responsible for production process: budget, distribution, advertising.
  • As an important member of the wider CEIBS communications team, produce high-quality promotional content to promote and protect the school’s brand and execute its communication strategy goals.

 

Requirements
à Journalism skills:

  • At least 4 years’ experience as a journalist/writer/editor/publisher.
  • Solid writing, editing & proof reading skills.
  • Ability to spot a story and tell it well.
  • Equally adept at writing snappy headlines, brief summaries and feature-length, thought-provoking pieces.
  • Experience and/or interest in leveraging Chinese language social media platforms to optimise exposure of magazine content.

 

  • Project management skills
  • Ability to take each issue of the magazine from planning stage to completion.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Able to effectively & harmoniously manage a team while driving the entire process.
  • Able to balance (sometimes conflicting) needs of various stakeholders.
  • Innovate and creative    

 

  • People skills
  • Ability to work closely with all programs and departments, VIPs and peers.
  • Adept at networking during major alumni & school level events.
  • Comfortable with being the main driver in efforts to market the magazine within the wider CEIBS community.

 

  • Academic qualifications & language skills:
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree
  • Chinese language skills: Native
  • English language skills: Professional level proficiency
