Yeung, Arthur

Adjunct Professor of Management, CEIBS

Dr. Arthur Yeung is Adjunct Professor of Management at China Europe International Business School. He was Director of the Centre of Organisation and People Excellence, and Academic Advisor to the Executive Education Programme at CEIBS from 2004 to 2013. He was also the Founding Director of CEO Learning Consortium. Prior to joining CEIBS in 2004, he served as the top HR executive (CHO) of Acer Group, working closely with the chairman in organisational transformation and leadership development of Acer. Currently, he serves as Board Member for five corporate boards, one not-for-profit organisation, and the Human Resource Planning Society in the United States.  Over the years, he has also advised a wide range of companies, including Tencent, Alibaba, TSMC, MaryKay, Antai Insurance, and TCL-Thomson. 

Author of ten books and dozens of articles, Dr. Yeung’s research interests focus on building organisational capability for strategic implementation, creating unique value propositions for talent management, growing talent for business growth, and leading large-scale organisational transformation. As one of the leading experts in strategic human resource management, Dr. Yeung’s publications appear frequently in Human Resource Management JournalHuman Resource Planning JournalHarvard Business Review (China), and many other leading journals and academic books. His published books include Organizational Capability - Secrets of Sustainable Business Success, and Breaking through in Organizational Capabilities. He currently serves on five international editorial boards.

Due to his contribution in executive education, Dr. Yeung was recognised by Business Horizon magazine in the U.S. as one of the next-generation "Executive Development Guru." In 2002, Dr. Yeung was elected as "HR Executive of the Year" by SmartFortune Magazine in China in recognition of his influential contribution in strategic human resource management in the Greater China region.  He has received several teaching awards, including the CEIBS Teaching Excellence Award in 2006 and 2007, and the prestigious CEIBS Medal for Teaching Excellence in 2009. He also chairs the Regional Judge Committee, sponsored by Hewitt, for selecting "Best Employers in Asia".
