On March 31, 2007, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) held a forum entitled "Modern Economy and Business Management from the Perspective of Culture." The event was organized in collaboration with the Qingdao Federation of Industry & Commerce, the Qingdao Youth Federation, the CEIBS' Qingdao Alumni Association, and the Private Enterprise Association's Qingdao Trade & Commerce Circulation Branch. More than 400 business leaders and government officials attended.

In her opening speech, Ms. Zhang Hui, Qingdao Standing Committee member and head of the Work Department of the Qingdao United Front, said the forum's focus matched well with business development requirements in Qingdao.

During his speech, Dr. Zhang Weijiong, CEIBS vice president and co-dean, expressed appreciation to business executives and officials for their support. Zhang said the mission of CEIBS is to develop entrepreneurs and executives with international competitiveness.  The forum serves this goal by enhancing competitiveness by sharing CEIBS' academic concepts with entrepreneurs in Qingdao.

In closing, Dr. Xu Xiaonian, CEIBS professor of Economy and Finance, delivered a keynote speech on "Traditional Culture and Modern Economy." Mr. Jin Zhiguo, president of the Tsingtao Brewery Co., Mr. Hu Baosen, a CEIBS EMBA 2002 alumnus and chairman of JianYe Corp., and CEIBS' CEO for 2004 alumnus, delivered speeches entitled "Management by Integrity and Development through Innovation" and "Corporate Culture and Strategy."
