We cordially invite you to attend the CEIBS Executive Forum on 27th February 2008 on a very relevant topic today, "Current Issues in Global Supply Chain Networks". Two internationally recognized academics are visiting CEIBS and will each present topics related to this overall theme. This will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session.
The presenters are well-known in their fields of research, teaching and consulting. Their research have interdisciplinary and management oriented approaches, and often conducted in close collaboration with private and government organizations. They have published and served as editors in a number of highly ranked journals. For more information on their backgrounds, please refer to the attachment. Professor Xiande Zhao, Director of the Center for the Li & Fung Institute of Supply Chain Management, Chinese University of Hong Kong, will address "Value Creation through Supply Chain Integrations". Professor M. Johnny Rungtusanatham, from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, will speak on "Preventing Severe Supply Chain Disruptions."
Supply chain integration is an effective approach to create value for customers and to enhance a company's competitive advantage in the market place. Professor Xiande Zhao will describe and demonstrate the different types of integrations and how they can help to create value using some cases. He will also describe the factors that influence supply chain integration. The consideration of problems in supply chain disruptions will be discussed by Professor J. Rungtusanatham, who will be focusing on the design and management of complex global supply chains. He will describe results from recent research on difficult buyer-supplier relationships.
