We cordially invite you to attend CEIBS Executive Forum on 17th October, presented by Mr. Wang Shi, Chairman of China Vanke Co, Ltd: "Enterprises' Development and the Social Responsibilities".


Mr. Wang is the Chairman of China Vanke Co., Ltd., of which Mr. Wang was Chairman and General Manager from 1991 to 1999. He founded the Shenzhen Exhibition Center of Modern Science and Education Equipment in 1984, which is the predecessor to China Vanke Co., Ltd..

China Vanke Co., Ltd. was established in May 1984 and is currently the largest property developer listed in the People's Republic of China. The most prominent characteristics of China Vanke are basing on principles and regarding morality and ethics more important than business interests. China Vanke believes that the foundation of its own success lies on the persistence on meeting the bottom line of our values, avoiding the temptation of profit, and acquiring fair returns by means of professionalism. China Vanke endeavours in becoming an enterprise most welcomed by clients, investors and employees and most respected by the society through regulations, transparency and a robust, focused model of development. Profile of Wang Shi

Wang Shi, male, was born in 1951 in Liuzhou, Guangxi Province. He received his undergraduate education at Lanzhou Railway College from 1974 to 1978. He participated in the organisation and establishment of the "Shenzhen Exhibition Centre for Modern Scientific Education Equipment" (former "China Vanke Co., Ltd.") and became its General Manager in 1984. Mr Wang had been the Chairman and General Manager of China Vanke Co., Ltd (the "Company") since 1988 and resigned from the General Manager position in February 1999. He is now the Chairman of the Company.

China Vanke Co., Ltd. is currently the largest property developer listed in the People's Republic of China ("PRC").

As a mountaineer, Wang Shi successfully climbed onto the peak of the Everest in 2003 and is still keeping the record of being the eldest mountaineer in the PRC reaching the peak of the mount. He also completed climbing onto peaks of other highest mounts around the world and the expedition of cutting across the Arctic in 2004 and 2005 respectively. He is one of the four native Chinese people successfully climbing onto peaks of the highest mounts around the world.

Company Profile of China Vanke Co., Ltd.

Established in May 1984, China Vanke Co., Ltd. ("China Vanke" or the "Company") is currently the largest residential property developer in the People's Republic of China ("PRC"). In 2006, China Vanke realised sales revenue of RMB21.23 billion, booked revenue of RMB17.67 billion, net profit of RMB2.15 billion and tax payment of RMB2.42 billion. As the end of 2006, the total assets and net assets of the Company were RMB48.51 billion and RMB14.88 billion respectively.

First engaged in the residential property industry in 1988, China Vanke set the development of mass market residential property development as its core business in 1993. In 2006, its operations spanned across more than 20 cities in three major economic circles, namely the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Bohai-Rim region. Up to the present, China Vanke has built homes for over 90,000 families in the PRC and become the first nationally renowned trademark in the PRC property industry,


The second company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1991, China Vanke had the largest market capitalisation of RMB67.23 billion at the end of 2006 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Since the Company's listing, the compound annual growth rate of its revenue from core operations was 28.3% and that of its net profit was 34.1%. China Vanke also enjoyed the longest period of sustained profit growth after listing in the PRC. Named twice as one of the "International Best Small Companies" by Forbes, the Company received the awards of "Best Corporate Governance" and "Best Investor Relations" from internationally renowned media such as Investor Relations Magazine, and Asiamoney. Thanks to its excellent corporate governance and high ethics codes, the Company was selected as one of  "China's Most Respected Enterprises" for five consecutive years and received the award of "China's Best Corporate Citizen" for three consecutive years.
