Dear friends,
We cordially invite you to attend CEIBS Executive Forum on June 14th, presented by Dr. Dean Spitzer, senior researcher, consultant, and performance measurement expert with IBM Corporation, on the subject of "Rethinking Performance Measurement".
Dr. Dean Spitzer is the Performance Measurement Thought Leader with IBM Almaden Services Research. He has more than 30 years experience in helping individuals and organizations achieve superior performance. Prior to joining IBM, Dr. Spitzer held senior positions with several other Fortune 100 companies and with the U.S. Government, was a professor at five universities, and led his own consulting firm. He is a much sought-after speaker and consultant, and he is the author of 7 books and over 150 articles.
Join Dr. Spitzer for an informative, insightful, and highly interactive program to help you rethink how you and your organization measure success. Drawing on his ground-breaking new book, Transforming Performance Measurement, Dr. Spitzer will:
* Explain what performance measurement is and why it's so powerful * Describe the ways that performance measurement can "go bad" * Ask power questions to help you assess your current measurement system * Inform you about uses and abuses of measurement technology * Highlight "emergent measures" in many organizational areas (such as marketing, sales, customer service, HR, knowledge management) that can be used to drive breakthroughs in performance * Provide examples and guidance for measuring your company's "high value" intangibles, such as leadership, service quality, intellectual capital, trust, and collaboration * Present a new "socialization of measurement" process that will allow you to get beyond the numbers and think strategically about performance measurement * Explain why "measurement leadership" might be one of the most critical success factors to organizational success * Recommend steps you can take to improve performance measurement in your organization

Dr. Dean Spitzer senior researcher, consultant and performance measurement thought leader, IBM Corporation
Dr. Dean Spitzer is a senior researcher, consultant, and performance measurement innovator with IBM Corporation. He has over 25 years experience in helping individuals and organizations achieve superior performance. Prior to joining IBM, Dr. Spitzer led his own consulting firm. In that capacity, Dr. Spitzer directed over 100 successful training and performance improvement projects. His client list reads like a "Who's Who" of outstanding organizations in this country and abroad. Prior to leading his consulting firm, Dr. Spitzer was a training/HRD manager and internal consultant with several Fortune 100 companies, assistant director of a U.S. Government education center, and served as a professor at five universities (including a two-year visiting professorship in Australia). He has also lectured and consulted on five continents.
Dr. Spitzer is currently an IBM thought leader in the area of performance management and measurement. He is involved in groundbreaking research at IBM on business measurement models and leads a research program on "the socialization of measurement." Dr. Spitzer has also developed an innovative training evaluation methodology called "Learning Effectiveness Measurement," which is being widely used within IBM and by IBM customers. Central to this offering is "Causal Chain Analysis," which Dr. Spitzer developed for linking training (and other organizational improvement interventions) with "bottom line" and intermediate business results.
Dr. Spitzer is the author of 6 books and over 130 articles on various areas of human performance improvement, organizational development, and performance management. His new book is Transforming Performance Measurement: Rethinking How We Measure and Drive Organizational Performance (AMACOM, 2007). He has spoken at and keynoted at over a hundred conferences.
Dr. Spitzer earned his Ph.D. degree with honors from the University of Southern California and his M.A. from Northwestern University. He also pursued both undergraduate and graduate studies at the London School of Economics.
