CEIBS Alumni Reunion

March 19, 2016. Shanghai – CEIBS alumni were able to recharge their leadership skills this weekend with a lively lecture by IMD Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour George A. Kohlrieser, who had previously worked as a police psychologist and hostage negotiator. His lecture, which focused on the topics “High Performance Leadership: Leading at the Edge” and “Care to Dare: How Leaders Unleash Exceptional Potential”,  was a highlight in an activity-packed reunion day that saw more than 300 Global EMBA and MBA 2011 alumni return to their alma mater.

CEIBS Vice President and Dean Prof. Ding Yuan updated alumni on the school’s new campus in Zurich, Switzerland and recent changes to the CEIBS Global EMBA Programme that mean that the school is offering the world’s first truly global stand-alone Executive MBA programme, the only one that provides access to two emerging continents – Asia and Africa – plus Europe and the U.S. The initiatives are aligned with CEIBS new development strategy of focussing on a two-way knowledge exchange between China and the world, rather than simply bringing western management best practices to executives in China.

CEIBS MBA2011 alumni enjoyed their own reunion activity in the afternoon, hosted by CEIBS Associate Dean and MBA Programme Director Prof. Chen Shimin. He spoke about the new non-profit financial aid project Di Shui Quan which was jointly established by CEIBS alumni company Noah Holdings Ltd. and its subsidiary, Internet finance company Cai Fu Pai. This project provides a platform based on mobile Internet technology through which funds donated by generous CEIBS alumni are able to reach a larger number of younger students to help fund their studies at CEIBS. He said the fund has already raised around RMB 12 million and is expected to provide financial support for qualified students beginning with the CEIBS MBA2018 class. He also shared news of the latest events organized by CEIBS MBA students, including the InnovateCHINA and Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC).  He encouraged alumni to continue to support the school’s development and to share their experiences with young MBA students through the school’s mentoring programme .

CEIBS Associate Dean and Director of the Global EMBA Programme Prof. Nikos Tsikriktsis closed the day’s festivities by recognizing alumni who have made significant contributions to the development of the Global EMBA Programme and student recruitment.
