EMBA, FMBA, & GEMBA 2014 Graduation Ceremony Held
November 19, 2016. Shanghai & Beijing – The CEIBS EMBA, Global EMBA, and Finance MBA programmes held a joint graduation ceremony today that saw participants at the Shanghai and Beijing campuses united via video link to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2014. School leaders, faculty, staff and family members of the graduates attended.
Vice President and Dean, Cathay Capital Chair in Accounting, Professor Ding Yuan congratulated the graduates and reminded them of the school’s motto: “Conscientiousness, Innovation and Excellence”. He urged them to promote the CEIBS spirit as they embark on the next stage of their careers. Dean Ding also reminded the graduates of the support that their alma mater can offer them. “CEIBS will always be your home; CEIBS is always willing to provide support to our alumni,” he said.
Chairman of CEIBS International Advisory Board and former Chairman of China Merchants Bank, Dr. Ma Weihua shared his thoughts on the entrepreneurial spirit. In his address, he explained that the entrepreneurial spirit has four attributes: flexibility, gumption, honesty and responsibility. “Entrepreneur is not an identity, but a mindset,” he said.
Director of CEIBS Case Development Center, Professor of Management Liang Neng addressed the graduates on behalf of the faculty. “Every time students I have taught depart means that a little fragment of my life has passed away. But every departure sows a seed of hope in my heart – all my best wishes and expectations are with all of you,” he said.
Representatives from each of the programmes also shared some special memories of their two-year CEIBS journey during the ceremony. CEIBS President Professor Li Mingjun led the certificate presentation ceremony which saw the graduates finally become the newest members of the CEIBS alumni family. Associate Dean and EMBA Programme Director, Professor of Accounting Charles Chen, along with Associate Dean and FMBA Programme Director, Professor of Finance and Accounting Zhao Xinge, moderated the ceremony.
