How International Airlines Can Adapt to Digital Developments in China

Dear Friends of CEIBS,

China’s fast-growing travel market is evolving as a digital marketplace. In many ways its online travel platforms are more advanced than those in the West. A global leader in the airline industry that was established almost 100 years ago in Europe, Air France KLM also has a strong network position in China. With this history and ambition to take advantage of the growing Chinese market, how is Air France KLM adapting to the digital developments in China?

We cordially invite you to attend the CEIBS Executive Forum on September 5, 2017 with Mr. Bas Gerressen, General Manager Air France KLM Greater China, who will give a lecture titled “How International Airlines Can Adapt to Digital Developments in China”.

Mr. Bas Gerressen has been in his current position with the airline since September 2013. He joined KLM in 1999 and has held four management positions for different regions during his tenure. Two years after joining KLM, he was appointed Manager of Operations, Airport Retail, and was responsible for the operations and sales for the liquor and tobacco shops at Schiphol Airport. In 2005, he was appointed Sales Manager in the Netherlands, responsible for indirect sales through business agents and corporate accounts. In 2007, he was appointed Commercial Director for the Gulf Region, Iran & Pakistan, and was responsible for commercial and distribution strategy, marketing and pricing. He was based in Dubai for this position. From 2010 until he took over his new position in China, he was Vice President, Commercial Planning, responsible for commercial strategy and communication, business intelligence, field marketing, SkyTeam sales and tourism development in the Netherlands & France. With all these positions, he has been a member of the airline’s management team.

We look forward to seeing you at this much anticipated event.
