Dear Friends of CEIBS,

We cordially invite you to attend the CEIBS Executive Forum on August 25 with Mr. Eddy Chan, Head of China and Senior Vice President of FedEx Express, who will give a lecture titled “The Opportunities and Challenges for the Logistics Industry under the Belt & Road Initiative”.

“The Belt and Road” initiative not only creates growth opportunities for China, but also the global economy. However, as it deepens trade interconnectivity, the initiative also introduces many new challenges. As one of the leading players in the logistics industry, FedEx seeks to empower its customers to handle the challenges and opportunities ahead through its innovative technologies, continuously evolving business model, and keen business insights.

Since joining FedEx as an account executive in Hong Kong in 1985, Chan has accrued an impressive breadth of experience across the company’s many divisions.  After being promoted to station manager in Hong Kong, Chan moved into sales. He began as a District Sales Manager in Hong Kong, and eventually became Managing Director of Sales for the Mid-Pacific region. After moving back into operations, serving as Managing Director of Operations for FedEx Taiwan, Chan became Vice President and General Manager of China and later Regional Vice President and General Manager of China and Taiwan, eventually adding the whole mid-Pacific region to his portfolio. As Head of China and Senior Vice President of FedEx Express, Chan now oversees the many operations of FedEx Express in this rapidly growing and increasingly vital market.

Chan has received numerous honours for his commitment to international economic development in China. He serves as a consultant to the Shanghai World Trade Organization Consultation Center and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission. He has acted as a visiting professor at the University of International Business and Economy and a Logistics Consultant to the Tian Jin Municipality Communication Commission. In addition, he has served as Vice President of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and Vice Chair of the Shanghai Express Industry Association. Chan received the “Magnolia Award” from the Shanghai Municipal Government in 2011 and in 2014, he received the “2014 CSR Innovator” award from CBN Weekly.

We look forward to seeing you at this highly anticipated event.
