The students, who represent the US, UK, Switzerland, Korea and Mexico, beat out more than 70 of their peers for the coveted award. The five scholarship winners will participate in the China Culture Experience Events organized by Shanghai Municipal Government Education Bureau this Sunday.

During today's ceremony, President Zhu extended his sincere congratulations to the winners on behalf of the Shanghai Municipal Government and encouraged the students to learn more about Shanghai -- and China in general -- during their study at CEIBS. This knowledge, he said, would contribute more to the growth of CEIBS, as well as to the development of Shanghai and China.

Speaking on behalf of all the scholarship winners, MBA 2008 Student Committee President Devon Nixon expressed their appreciation of the recognition, and of the support the Shanghai Municipal Government has extended to overseas students.

China Europe International Business School is a joint venture between the Shanghai Municipal Government and EU. The Shanghai Municipal Government established the Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship in 2007, with a goal of driving the education of overseas students in China and widening the pool of outstanding overseas applicants to CEIBS.
