April 22, 2009. CLFC -- Following the success of CEIBS' Lujiazui 'Finance Salon' series (which focus on macro-economic issues and governmental policy analysis), CEIBS Lujiazui International Finance Research Centre (CLFC) today hosted its inaugural 'CEIBS Lujiazui Fortune Salon'. These gatherings will focus on micro-markets and financial practices. Today's salon was held under the theme of  "Looking for China's Turning-point Industries".

The new salon series will be an open academic platform through which financial researchers and practitioners may keep abreast of the latest dynamics in the financial market, analyze and discuss investment strategies, and share their experiences and lessons learned.

More than 70 executives and researchers from various financial industries including fund management, banking, securities, investment, and insurance attended today's salon where they shared their insights and perspectives on this year's investment strategies. The event was co-organized by the CLFC and HOWBuy.com.

Mr. Shi Bo, General Manager of Shanghai Elegant Investment Co Ltd and a veteran in the field of fund investment, delivered the keynote speech titled "The Direction of Our Economic Growth in the Next Four Decades".

Mr. Shi Bo

Mr. Shi outlined his core investment principle: always look for China's turning-point industries and invest in them before they become full-fledged sectors. According to Mr. Shi, the "low-carbon economy" (which will involve more emphasis on energy efficiency in the pursuit of economic development) will be an emerging trend in the next four decades. The low-carbon economy is being touted as the next wave of the industrial revolution, he said. Mr. Shi suggests that investors need to keep an eye on relevant sectors such as solar energy, wind energy, nuclear energy, electric automobiles, and energy-efficient architecture.
