April 12, 2009. -- The CEIBS Business Women Club, the school’s only student organization totally dedicated to providing female MBAs with a platform for balancing study, career and family, today hosted a fun-filled Family Day at Shanghai’s Century Park in Pudong. No doubt helped by the mild spring weather, the event attracted many MBA 2008 students, their spouses and children.
In addition to being an opportunity for the young ones to play in the sunshine, Family Day was a chance for parents to share their experiences and insights on raising children while juggling the demands of an MBA programme. The club also has male members, and some fathers were active participants throughout today’s event with one leading the kids through spirited games of “follow the leader” and “pass the ball”. The games were a fun way to teach the children physical balance and boost cooperation with their parents. They also got a mini lesson in public speaking with each being asked to do a self introduction.

Participating parents had high praise for the Family Day which, many said, was an excellent way to bond not only with their kids but also their classmates and their classmates’ children. It also provided a lot of food for thought on how to balance career development with family life. Achieving this balance, some said, was a vital part of both their parental and social responsibilities.
