August 18, 2008. Shanghai campus - MBA 2007 students Jason Li, Roy Cheung and Eileen Xiao are this year’s Emerson Scholarship winners. Selected on the basis of their outstanding GPAs, the strength of their performance during interviews and group discussions, and their wider contribution to the student community, this year’s laureates were so impressive that three scholarships were awarded instead of the usual two.

The three are known for their sterling contribution to the successful staging of the Third Annual Being Globally Responsible Conference and the inaugural staging of innovateChina.

The Emerson Scholarship has been offered to CEIBS MBA students since 2001. Each May, applications are accepted from second-year CEIBS students vying for the ¥20,000 Emerson Scholarship. The Emerson assessment committee then organizes interviews and group discussion aimed at identifying two winners. Academic performance and participation in student activities are also taken into consideration. This year’s selection posed a challenge for the assessment committee which thought all the applicants were outstanding. Consequently, Emerson decided to select three winners, including one special offer.

Mr. Zhao Da Dong, the General Manager of Emerson Electric (China) Holdings Ltd., presented the awards.
