April 24, 2008. Shanghai campus. - Didn't get a copy of the first two issues of the freshly launched MBA students’ newspaper Shenme? Not to worry, there will be more to go around next time as the editing team plans to up the number of printed copies for future issues.
" The school has approached us to increase the number of prints from 300 to 1,300 and to use our newspaper as promotional material," said the three core members of the editing team. They are Jordana Blanchet, Jimmy Grossmann and Steven Khoo. They added: "In addition, students are voicing their opinions and sharing their experiences with more and more enthusiasm."
Launched at the start of this year, the magazine's second issue hit the campus on April 8. It was financially easier to pull off since sponsorship became less challenging with a tangible product (the first edition) to show. The editors are now taking steps to establish long-term relationships with sponsors to ensure that the newspaper can run independently in the years to come.
The newspaper's goal is to highlight campus activities and provide a platform via which students can share their experiences and opinions about the MBA programme, as well as wider China-focused and global issues. For example, Shenme? will include articles on students’ travel experiences, opinions on CSR or the latest downturn in the banking industry, book reading recommendations, etc.
