March 31, 2008. Shanghai campus -- Three CEIBS MBA students were today awarded coveted LVMH China Intern Scholarships. Each of the winning students will each spend two months this summer working for a division of the fashion giant in Paris.

LVMH has awarded intern scholarships to CEIBS MBA students for the past three consecutive years. This year's laureates of this challenging competition were Ms. Elle Lina Liu who will be conducting her internship with Louis Vuitton Fashion & Leather Goods; Mr. Hans Peng, who will intern for the company's Wine & Spirits division, and Gulam E. Ghaus Wani, who will work for the Perfume & Cosmetics division.

During the LVMH Scholarship Award Ceremony, LVMH Group Director (China) Andrew Wu congratulated the winning students for competing in the essay-writing competition against a tough field of 29 candidates. Contestants wrote on the challenging topic of "luxury products and the environment."

Mr. Wu also explained that, for the past 25 years, LVMH has sponsored scholarships for European students keen to learn about Asia. "Today, the company is offering scholarships to CEIBS students not only to provide them with an opportunity to learn about LVMH and about Europe, but also to enhance their capacity to truly become global citizens."

During the competition judging, the jury consisted of CEIBS' Distinguished Professor of Globally Responsible Leadership Henri-Claude de Bettignies (Chairman), CEIBS Dean Rolf D. Cremer, LVMH Group Communications Director Bruno Roland, LVMH HR directors Jessica Franck (Paris) and Caroline Mezan de Malarctic (Hong Kong), Louis Vuitton HR Director Max Ashmore (Paris), Wine & Spirits HR Director Shu-Yu Hu (Paris) and Cosmetics & Perfumes HR Director Elodie Sagot (Paris).

In announcing the three laureates of the competition, Prof. de Bettignies commented that: "This LVMH Asia scholarship was very difficult for us to select because there were so many excellent essays submitted. For you three talented winners, you will enjoy not only a wonderful opportunity to learn about Europe, but the experience will very likely change the way you look at the world and possibly at your own career."

CEIBS Dean Rolf D. Cremer next expressed CEIBS' gratitude to the LVMH group for funding the scholarships. "It is through such hands-on internships that CEIBS students can develop the more global mindset that will be so helpful in their career and so useful to further China's integration in the global community," he said.

Moet-Henessy Managing Director Daniel Chang and HR Director Vivian Sun issued the prize to the Wine & Spirits laureate; Louis Vuitton China Assistant Manager of Recruitment and Development Simon Chen distributed the prize to the Fashion & Leather Goods laureate;
Christian Dior Brand General Manager (Perfumes) James Zhang and LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics HR Director Maggie Ma issued the Perfumes & Cosmetics prize.

The award ceremony ended on a pleasant note as Andrew Wu promised to attendees that the LVMH scholarship programme would be continued next year.
