March 17, 2008. Shanghai campus - CEIBS announced today that investment leader China Holdings Inc International Commerce (CHIIC) has made a RMB 1 million financial contribution to the CEIBS' Education Development Foundation (CEIBS Foundation) to assist the funding of the business school's operations. Participants in the official signing ceremony included CHIIC President Edward Y.M. Zhu and CHIIC Strategic HR Director Robert Wu. Representing CEIBS were Executive President Pedro Nueno, Executive Development Programme Executive Director Hobbs Liu, MBA Programme Academic Director Lydia Price, Executive MBA Deputy Director Weldon Lai, and Director of Career Development Department Director Clara Tan.

CEIBS Executive President Pedro Nueno opened the ceremony with a welcoming address. "We are thankful for the support from CHIIC for CEIBS. It is a tradition among the world's leading business schools to seek support from companies that are successful and concerned with social responsibility.He explained that CEIBS works in partnership with successful companies that follow a long-term, CSR-oriented strategy and that share with CEIBS a deep commitment to the creation of knowledge. From our side, we are very proud to accept your support and to serve as your partner."
CHIIC President Edward. Y.M. Zhu responded by saying the company is "very proud to be a sponsor for CEIBS," adding that he has high expectations of good results for the new partnership. Mr. Zhu continued by declaring his commitment to investing in human resources for his company. "We look for more support from CEIBS, from education to training our staff," he said, adding that the business school will also assist CHIIC "to grow as a company in many other ways."

The Signing Ceremony concluded with a discussion period between Mr. Zhu and Prof. Pedro Nueno, Ms. Lydia Price, Ms. Clara Tan and Mr. Weldon Lai on future collaborative projects.
