January 28, 2008. Shanghai campus -- Professor Zhu Xiaoming, CEIBS President and Alumni Association President, today was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Dr. Zhu Xiaoming is Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Since June 5, 2006, Dr. Zhu has been President and Professor of Management at CEIBS. He has been a member of the CEIBS Board of Directors since 2000. Recognized as an academic expert by the State Council, Dr. Zhu was offered the position of Honorary Dean of College of Economics and Management in Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2003, where he had served as PhD Advisor since 2002. Dr. Zhu received a PhD in Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University, an MS in Industrial Management, and a BS in Electrical Automation from China Textile University.
Honors awarded to Dr. Zhu during his impressive career include: "Most Outstanding Chinese Entrepreneur" from Asiaweek (1994); 3rd Prize for "Science and Technology Advancement in Shanghai" (1985), 2nd Prize for "Science and Technology Advancement in Shanghai" (1995), 2nd Prize for "Shanghai Policymaking Consultation Achievement" (1998), and 1st Prize for "Shanghai Policymaking Consultation Achievement" (2004).
Dr. Zhu' s published research and writing, mainly focusing on the fields of economics and technology, include the five-volume Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation and Trade series, which is included on the list of reference readings for MBA and EMBA classes in Fudan University's College of Management. Other major publications include:

Dr. Zhu' s newest work, Mathematical Model Study of Economic Management Cases for national undergraduate and graduate higher education, is to be published by Higher Education Press in June 2006.
Dr. Zhu Xiaoming served as Vice-Chairman of Shanghai Students Federation from 1979 to1983 (9th session), Deputy Director of Shanghai Bureau of Textile Industry, General Manager and Party Secretary of Shanghai Jinqiao Export Processing Zone Development Co., and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Pudong New Area. From 1995 to 2003, he served as Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Chairman of both the Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Commission and the Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission. From 2003 to 2008, he served as Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress.
