December 2, 2007. CEIBS Lujiazui International Finance Research Center -- General Manager of China Investment Corporate Ltd., Gao Xiqing was today named adjunct professor of CEIBS Lujiazui International Finance Research Center (CLFC) during the Center's 3rd finance salon. CEIBS President Zhu Xiaoming conferred Dr. Gao with the award during the round-table discussion on "Problems and prospects of China's social security fund mechanism". 

Dr. Gao is the former Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Vice Chairman of the National Council for the Social Security Fund. During his keynote speech at today's CLFC salon, Dr. Gao thoroughly analyzed the historical development of China's pension system, the key challenges facing the country's social security, and the options for its pension system.

Dr. Chun Chang, CEIBS ABN AMRO Chair Professor of Risk Management who also serves as CLFC deputy director, was the moderator for the day's discussions.

Since its official opening on October 26, 2007, the CLFC's monthly salon events have provided a forum for similar top-level discussions. Dr. Gao joins CLFC's roster of impressive guest speakers who have already included Deputy Governor of the Bank of China Dr. Zhu Min, and Lord Mayor of London Alderman John Stuttard. President Zhu believes the CLFC salon series are an excellent way to prepare for the Shanghai Government's upcoming Lujiazui Finance Forum, a high-level international forum modeled after the World Economic Forum. He is optimistic that the two events will be mutually beneficial. "The salon series will be a rehearsal for the forum, while the forum will reflect the essence of the salon series," Prof Zhu said.

With the support of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Pudong New Area People's Government, the CLFC was co-founded by China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and Shanghai Lujiazui (Group) to serve as an authoritative and influential think tank for the development of Shanghai as an international financial center.
