November, 22, 2007. Shanghai campus - CEIBS today hosted a delegation from top German business media for a customized China briefing. The event was organized and sponsored by Bayer AG and was attended by Bayer AG executives including Heiner Springer, Executive Vice President for Communications, and Micheal Schade, Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Policy and Media Relations.
Six members of Germany's most respected business media attended the event, including: Martin Schmuck, editor-in-chief of Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen; Franz Sommerfeld, editor-in-chief of Kölner Stadtanzeiger; Friedrich Roeingh, editor-in-chief of Westdeutsche Zeitung, Dr. Richard Kiessler, editor in chief of NRZ; Jost Springensguth, editor-in-chief of Koelnische Rundschau; and Ulrich Reitz, editor in chief of WAZ.
After a campus tour lead by CEIBS Co-Dean Rolf Cremer, the delegation attended a series of presentations. Dean Cremer first spoke on the impact of the re-emergence of China as a world power. Dr. Stephen Green, senior economist at Standard Chartered Bank (China) then delivered a speech on key attributes of the Chinese economy today .
Bayer is a long-term sponsor of CEIBS and is a Research Fund Partner. Since 2006, the company has sponsored the school's Bayer Chair in Strategy and Marketing .
