November 4, 2007. Shanghai campus - Vice Minister of Education Wu Qidi, Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Shen Xiaoming, as well as Deputy Director Li Junxiu visited CEIBS today to attend a speech by CEIBS President Zhu Xiaoming, who is also Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress.

CEIBS Vice President and Co-Dean Zhang Weijiong opened the event by introducing the opportunities and challenges now facing the school. President Zhu Xiaoming then outlined the current areas of focus for CEIBS, including adapting programs to match market changes, expanding academic research, strengthening the teaching team, establishing a PhD program, and completing construction of Phase III of the Shanghai campus. In particular, President Zhu stressed the school's current shift toward the finance industry.

Vice Minister of Education Wu Qidi next expressed the ministry's strong support of CEIBS in establishing a PhD program. Vice Minister Wu also congratulated the school on its achievements and encouraged all faculty and staff to continue specializing in training China's high-level management. She urged the school to "score a second goal in promoting the CEIBS brand around the globe."

After the speech, the CEIBS Honorary President Liu Ji presented Vice Minister Wu with a set of printed academic works authored by CEIBS professors.
