Dow Corning’s unique dual brand marketing strategy with the audience, Mr. Mollie introduced 10 ways of innovation, from finance to delivery to the after sales of a product, and how a marketing strategy needs be applied to each stage of the product value chain. Following an overview of the functions and characteristics of a marketing strategy in innovative companies, Mr. Mollie then discussed “how to be a successful professional”. He summarized the career development for a marketing professional into four stages: acquiring, applying, leveraging and visioning and also provided a simple tool to help students find the best possible position for “ME”.
Responding to a question about how to motivate the marketing professional as they evolve from the “acquiring” stage to “visioning” stage, Mr. Mollie said that Dow Corning has creative incentive mechanisms, while a passion for this profession and internal motivation is longer lasting and more self-directive than external motivation.
