May 18, 2007. Shanghai Campus. CSR-minded CEIBS MBA2006 students today launched a Green Campus Campaign coinciding with the start of the school's annual Being Globally Responsible Conference.

The Green Campus Campaign was developed after students came together during the winter to share ideas on creating a more environmentally friendly school. Since then, the group has worked regularly with the CEIBS Logistics Department on partial steps to launch the campaign.

As a show of management support for the Green Campus Campaign, CEIBS Dean Rolf D. Cremer last month approved the creation of a Green Campus Committee. The committee includes the Dean, External Communications Director, a faculty representative, a logistics department representative, and student representatives.

To kick off, the campaign introduced two initiatives: energy reduction and recycling. The Green Campus Committee designed, printed, and is displaying a series of attractive green-and-white stickers with reminders to either recycle (paper, cans and bottles) or reduce resource usage (electricity and water). Look for the signs stating "Green Point" for new bins designated specifically for collecting paper and containers for recycling. Student organizers say further initiatives are also in the works to improve and expand the school's "green" practices.

As a leading international business school, CEIBS strongly encourages its students and faculty to show leadership in social issues. The launch of the Green Campus Campaign coincided with the 2nd Annual Being Globally Responsibility Conference, also organized by MBA students (May 11 to 13).  In addition, CEIBS MBA students regularly organize a Charity Bazaar, with proceeds donated to local social welfare organizations.
