Four CEIBS MBA 2006 students -- Richard Ren, Raghuram KS, Carrie Xiao, and Gary Que -- participated in the WELLcontest 2007 from Apr.15 to Apr.21, 2007 in the Copenhagen Business School. The team finished within the Top Three and received the "Innovative and Operational Award".

The contest is a real case competition related to GRUNDFOS--one of the world's leading manufacturers in the field of circulator pumps. All participating teams from top European and Chinese business schools were required to finish a 10-page case solution report within 48 hours. The paper was to outline a strategy for GRUNDFOS to develop a responsible supply chain management in China in order to meet its Corporate Social Responsibility goals.
The CEIBS team finished within the Top Three, giving the team a chance to present their solutions at the WELLcontest 2007 final competition. The CEIBS paper, "Chinese Specific Responsible Supply Chain Strategy" was praised by the competition jury as "innovative and operational".
CSR is a hot topic in the West but remains a new concept in China. This makes the achievement of the CEIBS team even more remarkable.
The spring of 2007 is a fruitful season for CEIBS MBA 2006 students. The honor of WELLcontest followed their achievements including finishing within the top three in the Top 10 of MIT Sloan 2007 Littlefield Manufacturing Competition and taking 4th place in Rotman International Trading Competition in March and April, 2007.
