On the evening of Dec 15, over three hundred MBA students from CEIBS, Management School of  Fudan University and Antai School of Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University had their "Shanghai Night" on the beautiful campus of CEIBS. Initiated and organized by the student committee of CEIBS MBA, the big party was the first of its kind to assemble the elite from the top business schools in Shanghai.

A Full Taste of Old Shanghai

This evening was a fantastic show of both eastern and western cultures and life, bringing great pleasure to every one when the East meets the West. In addition to the dance performances by the professionals, the energetic and fashionable participants presented their talent shows, including kongfu, lion dance, catwalks and ballroom dancing. Amid disco and salsa, the inebriated dancers voted the "Best Dressed", one of their favorite programs.

Lin Jinyi, one of the planners and organizers of the evening, remarked that they aimed to provide a platform of communication and exchange for MBAs of the leading schools. Although it was their first try, they have high expectations for it, "We hope that it can be developed into a series of its kinds, held at least every 3 or 4 months with varied subjects", added Lin.

The platform is urgently necessary for those industry talents, who have entered business schools with great dreams and explicit purposes to arm themselves with commercial expertise and a network of elite. This is more than evidently reflected on their contending for the 300 seats when the tickets are available to sell.

As the biggest inter- business school exchange in Shanghai in record, it is also the most participated activity by international students, accounting for one third of the population. They expressed their satisfaction with the subject of cultural exchange. "It is a great opportunity for us to learn more Chinese culture and get acquainted with more Chinese friends from both inside and outside of our school," commented Karl, an international student from CEIBS.
