In the cheerful rhythm of "Fagro's Wedding Sinfonia", started the 2007 "CEIBS Evening" New Year Concert on December 9th, 2006.
Reunited at the Music Hall of Zhongshan Park, Beijing, CEIBS alumni, VIP guests and honorable leaders gathered together to celebrate the New Year's arrival in the solemn and gorgeous symphony. The renowned conductor Mr. Tan Lihua, the famed pianist Mr. Kong Xiangdong, and the musicians from Beijing Symphony Orchestra jointly shared a marvelous night of music with the audience.

As a leading domestic business school, CEIBS has successfully sponsored high-level concerts in Beijing for consecutive 5 years since 2002, which highlighted CEIBS as a prestigious business school and demonstrated its consistent concern on cultural enrichment of its participants; on the other hand, the concerts also created a valuable chance for CEIBS alumni and friends from all circles to gather together and make further communications. China Mobile Communications Corporation, Intel China and Economy Channel of the CCTV offered great support for this concert.
Compared with the past years, this year's New Year Concert proved to be more significant than the past ones. The year of 1986 witnessed the graduation of the first 35 CEMI MBA students as they received their diploma from China-EC Management Institute (CEMI) -- the predecessor of CEIBS. 20 years later, answering the call of their Alma Mater, these earliest CEIBS graduates reunited in virtue of this concert. After so many years of separation, both teachers and schoolmates eventually celebrated their reunion. They enjoyed the time by cherishing the past memory of campus life and getting immersed in wine and music together.
CEMI was founded in 1984, and has since became the cradle of modern MBA education in China. During the initial period of China's reform and opening to the outside world, CEMI was faced with very challenging operation conditions. However, CEMI staff braved all difficulties and devoted themselves assiduously and faithfully to the MBA education which has just made their debut on the stage of China. After ten-odd years of hard efforts, CEIBS has continued its predecessor's undertaking and dedication in building up the school's brand and jumping to No.1 business school in Asia in terms of comprehensive strength.
CEIBS's 2006 MBA programme shows more internationalized features. Overseas students represented 30% of the total. At the same time, the programme was ranked No.21 worldwide and No.1 in Asia. As to the EMBA program, the school has already developed it into the world's largest size, and has remained one of the world's top 50 for 6 years consecutively. So far, there have been more than 9,000 person-times who joined the Executive Education Programme offered by CEIBS, which has also grown into one of the world's largest size EDP programmes with a worldwide ranking climbing up to No.35 according to Financial Times. With respect to international cooperation, CEIBS has also made significant breakthroughs by delivering various joint programmes with such top business schools as Harvard, Wharton and INSEAD, which have won universal recognition from partners and customers as well.
