GMAT, GRE, TOEFL & IELTS and CEIBS Admission Test  
     
 

1. Are GMAT, GRE, TOEFL and IELTS required for application?

GMAT is required (GRE will be accepted as alternatives. Please contact MBA Admissions Office for more information). In view of the importance of English proficiency for the study, TOEFL or IELTS are recommended to those applicants whose native language is not English. Effective scores will help us judge your English level in addition to other application materials.

2. What is GMAT? When and how should I take it?

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is offered year-round as a computer based test administrated by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). You should plan to register for the test at least 1 month before the date you will take it. For more information and registration, please go to www.mba.com.

You have to complete the GMAT test before we begin to process your application. You should include a photocopy of your official GMAT report in the application package if available.

3. Will the GMAT score expire?

GMAT scores are valid for five years after the test date.

4. What is CEIBS' GMAT code?

MDQ-HH-39.

5. What does admissions committee think if I took the GMAT more than once?

If you took the GMAT more than once, the Admissions Committee will evaluate your highest score.

6. Is there a minimum GMAT score to apply CEIBS?

No, there is no requirement on minimum GMAT score, though successful applicants usually score in excess of 600. The average GMAT scores of MBA 2007 and MBA 2008 Intakes were 687 and 691 respectively.

7. Do I need to get my official GMAT score sent by GMAC to CEIBS?

Yes, we require that official GMAT scores be sent directly by GMAC.

8. What is CEIBS Admission Test and when it will be conducted?

The CEIBS Admission Test is an option that CEIBS provides to MBA applicants in lieu of the GMAT. The CEIBS Admission Test is similar in style to the GMAT except it does not have the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) section. In the long run, CEIBS will gradually phase out its own test.

*To participate in the Admission Test, test taker must submit complete application at least 10 days prior to the test date.

9. How to apply for CEIBS Admission Test?

Applicants who intend to take CEIBS Admission Test should 1) submit complete application for MBA2009 programme by the deadline of each round; 2) indicate in your application form to take the Admission Test and enclose a copy of application fee payment receipt in your application package.

The test invitation will reach each applicant at least five days prior to the Admission Test. And each applicant need confirm by return.

10. Can I take more than once within one year?

No. Each candidate can only take the CEIBS Admission Test once a year.

11. Will CEIBS Admission Test score expire?

Yes, the score will expire two years after the test date.

12. Can I take both GMAT and CEIBS Admission Test? How will the Admissions Committee evaluate if I take both?

Yes, you can take both the GMAT and the CEIBS Admission Test. The Admissions Committee will take the higher score for evaluation.
