Integrated Strategy Project (ISP)
In the second half of Term 3, students provided a unique opportunity to undertake an Integrated Strategy Project (ISP) in one of CEIBS’ Sponsor Companies. The project offered concerns an issue of significant importance to the firm. During the ISP, groups of four to six students undertake a project within a company under the joint supervision of a senior CEIBS professor and a company mentor.
The purpose of the ISP is to:
a) allow the CEIBS MBA integrate the various elements of the program in an overall strategic analysis,
b) learn from application of theory and concepts to a strategic issue in a CEIBS Sponsor organization,
c) bridge the experience of the classes of the CEIBS MBA Program and MBAs’ own future career in business,
d) develop "holistic" competencies,
e) to support, in so far as is realistic, the process of organizational and strategic development in the respective CEIBS Sponsor organization within which projects are undertaken, and
f) demonstrate the excellence of the CEIBS MBA Program to the corporate world.
Most of the projects are within multinational firms in Shanghai. There are also some opportunities to do projects in other cities in China or abroad.
Optional Summer Internship
The optional Internship occurs between July and August at the end of the first year with no faculty supervision. It allows students to put their first year learning into perspective and to gain a better understanding of the relationship between their capabilities and aspirations. There is also the possibilities for the MBAs to pursue extended internships which might run for the entire Fall semester.
