6 full tuition scholarships and 6 half tuition scholarships every year
3. Eligibility
Applicants must be Chinese citizens from less-developed regions who meet basic requirements of CEIBS MBA Program.
a. Only provinces with GDP per capita below RMB 20,000 are considered "less developed" regions and thus only students related to these provinces (in 2007, these are Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Xinjiang, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Chongqing, Hainan, Hunan, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Ningxia, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Xizang, Anhui, Guangxi, Gansu, Yunnan, Guizhou) are eligible.
b. Admission will focus on social and personal criteria: "Social" in this context refers to significant connections that the applicant has with his/her home province. The significant connection is measured as follows:
i. Born or with HUKOU in above mentioned province. The applicant should demonstrate the links that he/she still have with his/her home province.
ii. Worked in the disadvantaged province. Candidates with 2 years (or above) solid work-experience in such an underdeveloped province are considered to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
In this regard, applicants are required to write an essay (see the essay questions in the Scholarship Application Form) to explain their relationship with the less developed province. The facts provided in the essay would be verified by the evaluation team.
c. Preferably, the scholarships would be awarded to students who are in need of financial assistance. Thus, applicants would need to provide financial documents to support their applications. For instance, in certain cases, tax statements will be requested from eligible candidates to prove their financial eligibility for the scholarship.
4. Application & Review Procedures
a. Completed EU-China Scholarship Application Form (Download Here) together with other supporting documents should be submitted to the MBA Office by April 30th every year.
