Low, Aaron H.W.

Adjunct Professor of Finance, CEIBS

Dr. Aaron Low is Adjunct Professor of Finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He is currently a Principal & Managing Director of Lumen Advisors on investment strategies and asset allocation. Dr. Low is the Executive Chairman and Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Governors at the CFA Institute. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Singapore Government Pension Fund and Board Director at the Wealth Management Institute (WMI) of Temasek.

Dr. Low received his Ph.D. in International Financial Economics from the Anderson School, UCLA, and an honors engineering degree from NUS. He has also completed the Directors Program from Stanford University and the University of Chicago. Aaron obtained his CFA charter in 1998.

He is currently on the Board of Editors of the Journal of Futures Markets (JFM). He is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Aaron was previously managing investments at PIMCO (Newport Beach, US), the world’s largest active investment management company, where he was Head of Investment and Portfolio Management for Asia X Japan and responsible for starting the Asian investment operations for PIMCO. Prior to that he was Head of Fixed Income and Balanced Portfolios at Rosenberg Capital Management RCM Global Investors and Allianz Global Investors (San Francisco and Asia), where he helped start the institutional investment business, managing assets for sovereign wealth funds, central banks, corporations and family offices.

He has served as Senior Investment Advisor to several China investment firms including Harvest Fund Management in Beijing, Bosera Asset Management in Shenzhen, and Minsheng Tonghui Asset Management in Shanghai. He was also on the advisory board of BNP Paribas Hedge Fund Center and the Investment Management Association of Singapore (iMAS).
