1.1.1 To make full use of library collection, first you might learn how to use online catalogue to look for library collection. From online catalogue, you can input any words such as title, author, classification number, subject words etc to search what you want. After getting the bibliographic record, please be aware that the number on the top left of the record is the call number for each book. The call number is made up by classification number, author number, edition, and publish year. All the books are shelved by the call number in different areas

1.1.3 You can also get more information by holding record at the bottom of the bibliographic record. Book status shows whether the book is available in library or on loan; For those on loan books, there are also borrower card number and due date for your reference. In location column, most books get a blank here which show they are shelved by call number in general way. Some other books get location code here which indicate the special place they are shelved. There is also the hyperlink of location code table for your more information on this web page.
1.2 How to look for general books?
1.2.1 General books are those print materials except reference books, textbooks and reference books appointed for module use, working paper, internship report.
1.2.2 Being main part of library traditional resource, general books are shelved in South and North area on the second floor of our library. Chinese books are shelved in South area and English books are shelved in North area. All books are classified and organized in call number.
1.3 How to look for other print materials?
1.3.1 Textbook and reference book appointed for module use: Appointed textbooks and reference books are not available to borrow in the module. They are specially shelved on TEXTBOOK SHELF on north-east corner on the second floor of the library. After module use, they will be withdrew and organized in call number as usual.
1.3.2 Donation books: All donation books can be borrowed. Books donated in batch by company are specially shelved on DONATION SHELF on south-east corner on the second floor of the library. Books donated by individual are shelved as general books.
1.3.3 CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) serials: New CFA serials are not available to borrow. They are specially shelved on TEXTBOOK SHELF on north-east corner on the second floor of the library. CFA materials of last year are shelved as general books and can be borrowed.
1.3.4 Reference books: Reference books including dictionaries, encyclopedia, yearbooks, almanac are not available to borrow. Dictionaries are specially shelved on REFERENCE BOOK SHELF on south-east corner on the second floor of the library. Encyclopedia, yearbooks, almanac are specially shelved on REFERENCE AREA on south-west corner on the first floor of the library.
1.3.5 CDC books: CDC books are not available to borrow. They are specially shelved on REFERENCE AREA on south-west corner on the first floor of the library.
1.3.6 Case: Cases are not available to borrow. They are specially shelved on REFERENCE BOOK SHELF in the module. After module use, they will be destroyed.
1.4 How to look for periodical and newspaper?
1.4.1 Periodical and newspaper are shelved in East and West area on the second floor of the library. Back issues of periodicals are all well-chosen for binding. Those binding periodicals are shelved on the third floor. Newspapers can be found in special newspaper shelf on the second floor.
1.5 How to look for special collections?
1.5.1 Company brochure: Company brochures are not available to borrow. They provide useful information to those students who are looking for the job. They are specially shelved on REFERENCE AREA on south-west corner on the first floor of the library.
1.5.2 CD-ROM: CD-ROMs are shelved on ELECTRONIC RESOURCE AREA on south-east corner on the first floor of the library. Please come to the library reception desk for borrowing or reading.
1.5.3 Visual Materials: Videotapes are not available to borrow. You can view some visual materials such as business forums, speeches etc. by VOD system from on campus. The library has specified several workstations on the third floor for users to access this collection.
1.6 How to look for electronic resource?
1.6.1 Electronic resources are: E-books, E-database, E-journals and E-news. Hyperlink, brief introduction and user guide are all available on the web page of our library.
1.6.2 User name and password needed are all available in public folder of CEIBS email box and are updated in time.
