Readers entering the Information Centre must pass through a metal detector and show your identity (ID) cards. Readers shall safeguard your personal property such as laptop, mobile phone, bag etc. within the library and bring them away with you when you are out of the library. Readers shall take normal precautions for them, the library is not responsible for the loss of personal property brought into the building.
Readers within the library must refrain from various restricted behaviours, including, but not limited to, the followings:
Speaking loudly or affecting the peace;
Eating or smoking within the library;
Damaging any items from the library's collection or property.
Please set the mobile phone to vibrate mode within the library.
All books may be borrowed except those specified for teaching courses and reference, such as textbooks, teaching materials, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, CDD books etc. Journals are usually limited to be read in the library.
The number of books each student may borrow is limited to 8 in total. For MBA students, the borrowing time is 4 weeks and the books can be renewed for a further 4 weeks. For EMBA students, the borrowing time is 8 weeks, no renewing is allowed.
Those who fail to return borrowed books will not be allowed to borrow again. The charge for overtime loans is RMB1.00 per book per day.
Those who lose, damage or steal any items from the library collection will be fined 5-10 times of the original price according to the type of offence. Those who steal or purposely damage the items will be subject to further punishment from school authorities.
Playing games is not allowed in the library.
Normal library hours are 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. everyday, except for official holidays and internship period. Students will be informed of changes to normal opening hours.
