On June 20 (Saturday), government policy-makers and diverse stakeholders gathered at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai to discuss value creation in health care with the aim of providing effective and efficient health services that are affordable to the society, and achieving consumer and provider expectations in China.

China Health Care Development Forum 2008, held on September 21, by providing a high-profile platform for East and West dialogue, probe into the opportunities and challenges in China’s pursing its ambitious healthcare scheme, and seek for solutions from the perspectives of government, scholars, companies and hospitals.

Year 2007 is witnessing a critical moment of China’s health care reform. The official announcement of “reaching health for all” has ended the long debate on China’s medical reform. However, the Chinese government is fully aware of the great challenges ahead to explore a sustainable path for China’s health care reform.

Established since 2005, the annual China Health Management Forum was acclaimed as a great success, attracting more than 300 academics, government officials, company executives, hospital presidents and media each year.

The first annual China Health Care Management Forum was successfully held at CEIBS' Shanghai campus on September 5,2005. More than 300 executives from both foreign and local pharmaceutical companies, hospital presents, goverment officials and the media attended the event, with hospital presidents taking up about 35% of the total number.
