Gutsatz, Michel

Adjunct Professor of Marketing, CEIBS;
Director of DBA & MBA, Euromed Management

Dr. Michel Gutsatz is Adjunct Professor of Marketing at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and Director of DBA & MBA of Euromed Management. As the first professor who lunches MBA in Luxury in Europe, he has been the specialist in Luxury Industry Trend and Brand Strategy. 

Professor Gutsatz received his Docteur d’Etat in Economics from Université Aix Marseille 2 in 1986, Master in Art History & Archeology at Université Aix Marseille 1 in 1972 and Ingénieur Civil des Mines from Ecole des Mines in 1970. 

Professor Gutsatz is Advisor of the Scriptorium Company, a Brand Strategy Agency whose clients encompass investment funds, business schools, luxury brands, mass brands and distributors. Prior to that Michel was Managing Director at White Spirit, an Image Strategy Agency, designing logos, packaging, brochures and merchandising items consistent with brand strategy recommendations. As Human Resources and Internal Communication Director of the Bally Group in Switzerland, member of the Executive Committee, he redeveloped the whole HR function and redesigned the Bally in-store service strategy, convinced that service & retail are critical to the success of a luxury brand. Michel also created and developed the MBA in International Luxury Brand Management at ESSEC business school, through partnerships with L’Oréal, LVMH, The Estée Lauder Companies, Cartier, Montblanc, Escada, Ermenegildo Zegna, Firmenich, etc. This MBA is now a reference in luxury brand management training. His blog BrandWatch at www.michelgutsatz.com is now also a reference in brand strategy.
