Dr. Hyun Young Park is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. She has earned her PhD in Marketing from New York University and Bachelor in Business Administration from Seoul National University with highest honors.

Dr. Park’s research focuses on how morality and emotion influence judgment and decision making. In particular, she examines how moral emotions such as anger, guilt, gratitude, and pride influence consumer spending decisions and mental accounting. In addition, her work experiences at A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, and L’Oreal gave rise to her interest in the effects of branding on consumer identity and information processing. Furthermore, her extensive volunteer work experiences in Central Asia and Haiti have inspired her interest in charitable giving and non-profit organizations.

Dr. Park has been a passionate volunteer worker over the last thirteen years. She is a founder of a non-profit educational institute in Kazakhstan, and has been serving the deprived people in Islamic, post-Socialist, and distressed countries through various educational programs. In addition, she has been actively involved in ASEM (Asia Europe Meeting) activities that promote mutual understanding across different cultures. Dr. Park has a unique global background as she grew up receiving education from Australia, France, Japan, Korea, and the US.
