SHORT BIO
 

Dr. Alfredo Pastor is Professor of Economics, holder of the Spanish Chair, and former Dean and Vice President at CEIBS. He is also Professor of Economics at Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE) in Barcelona, Spain. From 1993-1995, Dr. Pastor served as the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs in the Spanish Ministry of Finance. He has also served as Director of Instituto de la Empresa Familiar, Board Member of Banco de Espana and Economist for the World Bank. Dr. Pastor was President and CEO of Empresa Nacional Hidroelectrica del Ribagorzana (ENHER) from 1985-1990. He is currently a member of the Boards of Miguel y Costas, Sol Melia and Scania Hispania. He was Chairman of Scania Hispania from 1997 to 2001. Dr. Pastor received his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a D.Sc in Economics from the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. Dr. Pastor received his BA in Economics from the Universidad de Barcelona. He is the author of numerous papers and articles, and is co-author of Efficiency, Stability and Equity:The Padoa-Schioppa Report published by Oxford University Press. Dr. Pastor has been a Board Member of Circulo de Economia since 1989. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of Moneday Credito and of the Recoletos Publishing Group.
