| |
Professor Mobley joined CEIBS as a full-time Professor of Management in August 2002. Previously he was Chancellor of The Texas A&M University, President of Texas A&M University and, prior to that, Dean of the Texas A&M College of Business Administration. Now, he is President Emeritus of Texas A&M University; Honorary Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and Honorary Distinguished Professor at the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico. He has served on the faculties of Carnegie-Mellon University; University of South Carolina, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; as a Senior Fulbright Professor at National Taiwan University, and as a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University. He was Chairman of the Texas Council of Public University Presidents and Chancellors in the early 90's as well a member of the Accreditation Committee of the AACSB (American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business). Professor Mobley is a member of the Academy of Management, Fellow of the American Psychology Association and Fellow of the Society for Industrial-Organisational Psychology.
Professor Mobley's research interests focus on leadership development, multinational leadership, employee turnover, strategic talent management, organizational culture and effectiveness. His works can be found in various academic journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Applied Psychology and Human Factors Journal. He is the author of Employee Turnover: Causes, Consequences and Control. and serves as Executive Editor of the series Advances in Global Leadership.
Professor Mobley previously served as Head of HR Research and Succession Planning for PPG Industries; President of the Global Research Consortium; and Managing Director of PDI Asia Pacific He has provided executive coaching and otherconsulting services for many major multinationals, including AVIVA, Agilent, BASF, BP, Coca-Cola, Corning, Haworth, Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, IBM, INBEV, Ingersol Rand, Jardine Matheson, McDonald's, Microsoft, Motorola, Pepsi, Philips, Shell, TYCO, and Wal-Mart, He also serves on the Boards of Directors of several firms and foundations in the U.S. and Hong Kong, as well as a member of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council.
