SHORT BIO
 

Dr. Yan Gao is Assistant Professor of Finance at CEIBS. He was Assistant Professor at California State University at Los Angeles, and had taught at Baruch College of City University of New York and Northwestern University. Dr. Gao received his Ph. D. degree in Finance from Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. He holds an MBA from Baruch College of City University of New York and a Master of Science degree from Michigan State University. His publication has appeared in various academic and professional journals. His current research is focused on Initial Public Offerings, Venture Capital, and Corporate Bonds.  Before his academic career, he worked at High Yield Research Department of Merrill Lynch & Company in New York City, and later worked as an analyst in a hedge fund.  Dr. Gao is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

Dr. Gao built his expertise and experience in the area of corporate finance, fund raising, and venture investing.  He is a senior advisor of a renowned international private equity firm, as well as the investment committee member of CEIBS Investment Management Company. 

He initiated the first CFA training program in China. He currently sets up highly successful overseas training programs for executives in China's biggest state-owned banks in Manhattan, New York, and designs world-class training programs for CEIBS Lujiazui International Finance Research Centre.
