Dr. Rolf D. Cremer is Professor of Economics, Dean and Vice President at CEIBS. He began to teach at CEIBS as visiting professor from 1996. Previously, he was the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Business at Massey University, New Zealand and was Head of the School of Applied and International Economics at Massey University. He is also Honorary Professor of Nanchang University. Before service at Massey University, he was Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of East Asia, Macau. Dr. Cremer has been a member and trustee of several boards in New Zealand.

Dr. Cremer received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He is the author of a number of books and research reports, published in New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Germany. His journal publications have appeared in the American Journal of Economics and Sociology, the Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy, Jahrbuecher fuer Nationaloekonomie und statistic, Konjunkturpolitik, Wirtschaftspolitische Blaetter, The International History Review, Asian Survey. Dr. Cremer's research interests include foreign direct investment, international communication and international trade, small and medium-sized enterprises, employment policy, and international management education.
