As the new year unfolds, a management forum is being jointly offered for the first time by three renowned academic institutions, i.e. Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, China Europe International Business School, and Harvard Business School, successively in Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai. The forum has invited Dr. F. Warren McFarlan, Baker Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School, to give a keynote speech “The Transformed Organization in the Information Age”. Just as Thomas Friedman remarked in his book “The World Is Flat”, the information era provided every possibility and endless imaginations for the globalization strategies of enterprises. However, as every coin has two sides, the seemingly flat road is full of ups and downs. As the major discussion theme of this forum, enterprises should learn to make timely adjustments, capture the opportunities brought about by the information transformation, and enhance their global competitiveness.
