Description

As business competition intensifies and technology development surges forward, many companies are formulating new growth or transformation strategies to create higher value for their shareholders and customers. What are the secrets of sustainable business success? How should companies approach the multiple challenges in building sustainable competitiveness? The development direction of a company is determined by its strategy, and its success in achieving its strategic objectives will depend on organisational capability. This programme will largely explore how to use various strategic HR methods and tools to help companies to address challenges arising from new forms of competition and thus create value and develop competitive advantage.

Comments From Participants

Professor Yeung explored the strategic HRM in a well-structured manner and focused on development of organizational capabilities. His wonderful lectures on two “triangles” described the key factors to improve organizational capabilities and benefited us a lot.

The programme has explained how to build organisational capabilities and align them with strategy for successful strategic execution. It’s an integration of vivid lectures, interactive discussions, case study, and group exercises, offering useful tools to develop organisational capabilities. I’ve benefited a lot from it.

Sherley Yang

The programme systematically explored the development of organizational capabilities in support of strategic execution and introduced some useful tools for managers, which can even be used by non-HR managers in team management and development.

Bridget Peng
Sr. Manger
YUM!Brands INC China Division

Professor Yeung gave us a comprehensive explanation on the organisational competence system, which was in alignment with business strategy. He also integrated his own practical experience into the lecture, and dealt with the subjects with profundity and an easy-to-understand approach. In my eyes, the course was highly instructive, because it helped me look at the changes in our company's organisational competence in a systematic way.

Zhang Jianjun
Vice President
China Electronics Technology Group Corporation No.10th Research Institute

The programme is wonderfully structured with applicable cases. It is especially worth mentioning that since the professor was personally involved in many of the major incidents of the case studies and is actively connected with senior executives of major corporations, his first hand information contributed to make the case analysis colourful and insightful. CEIBS’ inspiring teaching style created a wonderful environment for interaction between the professor and participants. The operation of the programme is, as usual, professional, thoughtful, and attentive to details.

General Manager

Many companies invest significant resources designing strategies in order to help them prepare for the future. However, these strategies either are shelved or produce less than desirable results. The key reason for these failures is these companies lacked strong organisational capabilities to execute the strategies. Although I had my own thoughts on strategy execution, it's only after participating in Professory Yeung's programme that I now have a systematic understanding of the topic. He deeply impressed me with the three parts of organisational capabilities: employee capabilities; employee mindset; employee governance. These ideas provided useful tools to help us raise the level of our organisational capabilties. This programme is excellent and practical.

Liang Kaijuan
Researcher, Research Centre
China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Co., Ltd.

Through a large number of case studies, Professor Yeung analysed the concept of organisational capabilities and provided useful tools and tactics to raise organisational capabilities. These tools will be useful in helping our organisation execute our stratagies and accomplish our objectives. CEIBS' programmes are innovative and the professors are top notch, living up to the strong reputation it has earned as one of the top business schools.

Liu Jiantao
Luzhai Branch General Manager
Guangxi Mobile Communication Company Limited

The programme is extremely helpful to me in that it covers such areas as how to design blueprints for promoting new organisational capability and how to select talents and develop employees' capability. By citing Acer as a corporate example, the programme illustrates the importance of organisational capability as the core to implement strategies. With its highly internationalised teaching method employed throughout the programme, I believe CEIBS is sure to grow into an important facilitator to push further development in more social areas in the future.

Chen Yi
Vice Director
Kunshan Economic & Technical Development Zone Administrative Committee

As far as I am concerned, programmes concerning organisational behaviour and human resource management usually provide only isolated solutions to problems in related fields. Professor Yeung, however, integrates abstract theories with concrete cases, and successfully combines issues regarding business strategy, organisational capability and enterprise culture, as well as staffing elements together in his lectures. With the broader horizon and deeper insight provided by his lectures, professional managers, as well as entrepreneurs, can avoid making vain efforts.

Yu Dongmei
Vice President
Beijing Centergate Technologies (Holding) Co., Ltd.

The programme of Building Organisational Capability for Strategic Implementation offered me a more in-depth understanding about the importance for a company to possess a strong organisational capability. With our industry's features and our goal, we believe now that the best solution for building up organisational capability in a fast changing environment is enhancing learning ability of a company and developing the company into a boundaryless organisation.

Yang Jie
General Manager
Shanghai Mainland Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

In the changing business environment, my company suffers from the failure to execute the formulated strategies, and the management is puzzled by the significant imbalance between the invested resources and the expected achievements. Thanks to this programme, I finally see the light. The roots of the problems lie in that the company hasn't built up its organisational capacity to match the strategies, and that the employees have not been able to adapt to the changing environment in terms of their competencies, ways of thinking and development. The programme has provided me with not only analysis but also practical solutions to these problems.

Xu Jinghui
Deputy General Manager
China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd.
