It’s a sunny and beautiful Sunday in early June. Around lunch time at the Shanghai Marina Club a few students and family members of the International EMBA 2009 class have gathered to enjoy yet another class activity. Yu Yang who is the Chief Representative of Grosvenor Ltd. in China, and a student of the International EMBA 2009 class at CEIBS has organized this Sunday BBQ.

Students at the CEIBS EMBA undergo a rigorous two year programme, which is a tough but very rewarding learning experience, but what happens once they graduate and leave the class room and very dear classmates behind?

For some students it had been months since they had seen their old classmates last, for others it had only been a few days. Having a big group of EMBA International Class alumni gathered together for a reunion the feeling of excitement was something everyone had in common, regardless of when they had seen their classmates last.

The students, spouses and friends of CEIBS EMBA International Class 2010, flying in from cities like Nadu, India; Seoul, South Korea; Guangzhou, Beijing, Lanzhou and many other cities of China, were all gathered on the first night of the Opening Residency Module, to enjoy a Welcome Dinner at the second floor of the Shanghai Campus restaurant, to properly kick off and celebrate their 2 exciting years to come.

After three days of intense schedules consisting of lectures, dinners, team building and Tech Mark sessions, the students and spouses of CEIBS EMBA 2010 International Class joined together with Alumni and MBA Student Committee representatives, at Blue Frog Jinqiao for mixing, networking and an early celebration of almost finalizing their first Executive MBA module at CEIBS.

In addition to a big change and adjustment for the students who are about to start their EMBA studies, there also is an adjustment and change for the student spouses. An already busy work schedule with considerable pressure is now to be juggled with intense and rigorous studies, while trying to maintain valuable time spent with the family and spouse. A lot of planning is required and at times the absence from family and social activities might be frustrating.

On the chill but cheerful noon of 12th December, students of EMBA International Class 2009 along with their family gathered for an early Christmas celebration at Hamilton House, a traditional French restaurant whose stylish art deco interior adds a touch of modern class to a historic corner of Shanghai.

For the EMBA International Class an early Christmas celebration was arranged on Thursday December 3rd at Southern Belle in the French Concession, where food, drinks and of course mulled wine was served in a true Christmas atmosphere.

On September 20th over 600 students of the EMBA 2006 class gathered at CEIBS Shanghai Campus, to celebrate their graduation. The ceremony included International Class fellows as well as their Chinese Class counterparts from Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen intakes.
